I was born in Pittsburgh, lived in San Antonio for a while, and attended Amherst College, where I studied English and French and played baseball. 

I'm in my first semester on the poetry track in the Queens College MFA program in Creative Writing & Literary Translation, studying with Kimiko Hahn and Ammiel Alcalay.

My poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and will be included in a forthcoming anthology from the Texas Book Festival, and my creative endeavors have been supported by the Alpine Fellowship and the Amherst College Center for Community Engagement. I've also benefitted from the mentorship of Tara Skurtu and the guidance of Naomi Shihab Nye.

I'm working on a collection of poems and my first novel.
